Product Description ?

This genuine OEM sourced replacement 120 Volt armature is specially designed for use with Milwaukee electric drills and screwdrivers. This high-quality component is sold individually, it includes the plastic fan, however, the armature bearing and the commutator end bearing are both sold separately. Due to constant contact with carbon brushes armature will eventually wear out and would need to be replaced, it is highly recommended to replace both carbon brushes when replacing an armature.

The spline end of the motor shaft was stripped and no longer engaged with the output gears

I had the gearbox removed already from diagnosing the problem. I removed the armature after I discovered the stripped end of the shaft. I ordered the parts that I felt necessary to repair the drill, the bearings were ordered because I felt they could have been a contributing factor in the failure. The brushes because I have never replaced them in the 25 years or so that I have owned the drill. After receiving the parts I took an inventory to make certain that everything that I had ordered had arrived and was not damaged, and set about replacing the parts. I put the bearing on the spline end of the motor shaft (mistake). Then I removed the existing bearing from the handle end of the drill. I then started the tail end bearing onto the motor shaft and slid the rotor into the stator. I had some difficulty getting the brushes back into place it just takes some effort. The front bearing is better placed in the gearbox before going onto the motor shaft, the housing screws work like a bearing press this way.
