Question: Regular 22" Weber Kettle Gr...

imjmbicycle

I need something to place on the grate to raise another cooking surface about 4" more above the coals. I used the Charcoal ring from my Smoky Mountain 22" smoker and it worked very well. When using wood charcoal to heat the whole surface area, the heat is too high. Chicken burns too quickly and there is no room to move it when the grate is crowded. The ring raises it about 4 more inches to an ideal heat for a crowded grate. Is there anything other than a $25 ring?
Question: Smoky Mountain Smoker

imjmbicycle

I would like to see a handle on each side of the body to make it easier to lift off the base. Also would like to see a design change to get to the lower grate with out having to remove the top grate when there is something on it. Maybe a 2 part body?
