1. Removed the original part from the shaft.
2. Cleaned the remaining shaft - cable.
3. Installed the new part - replacing and tightening the screws in their appropriate place.
4. Filled the gear box with gear grease.
5. Replaced the blade, REMEMBERING that the nut has left handed threads !!!
6. Crank the unit and start edging.

Dust cup teeth were broken out could not tighten

The tool I repaired was a Poulan Pro weed eater with different attachments, this one being a brush cutting blade, which Poulan does not offer this particular type of blade. (blade with chain saw links). Dust cup fit on a round shaft with 2 flat sides, only way to tighten was using a flat head screwdriver to fit between teeth on dust cup to stop rotation. I did have to fashion a flat washer to fit inside the brush cutting blade for a tight fit. Inside diameter had to be specific to shaft and outside diameter had to fit hole in brush cutting blade. The 3 parts I ordered were brand specific and were a perfect fit, thank you!
