Bosche 4000 arbor Nut seized to blade and Washers: Required Output Shaft Replacement
1. Had to cut arbor Nut from Output Shaft: Shaft threads were damaged from oxidation, heat, and poor design/engineering.

2. Disassembled Bosche 4000 Table Saw Top
3. Disconnected Wiring
4. Removed Output Shaft and Bearings
5. Removed Motor Housing and Armature
6. Inspected and Replaced three of four bearings on Armature and Updated Output Shaft. (4100)
7. Cleaned and re-Greased Bearings and Gears.
8. Reassembled. Checked fittings for smooth operation and wiring.
9. Tested Motor Shaft Assembly under power, and installed new Washers, Arbor Nut, and Blade.

A lot of inspection of parts. The brushes were still 90%, but the shaft and 3 of 4 bearings were toast. Grease was solidified and required cleanup and replacement with fresh polyurea EM heavy duty grease. I'm guessing some bearings were bad at the factory as the saw was always very loud. The arbor nut had to be cut off to be removed: penetrating oil did nothing to release it. Upon completion and I was nervous being my first modern table saw repair, but it purrs like a kitten, it was never this quiet. I confirmed both main bearings were crunching and blown, and one secondary bearing was blown. (rear Armature bearing) If I experience any bearing failures again I will find ceramic bearing replacements. In hindsight: it was easy to fix and restore, the parts were expensive considering I had to make three separate orders due to not knowing the (4100) output shaft was revised and resolved the poorly engineered 4000 output shaft, and the updated Washers and arbor Nut had larger threads for the revised Output Shaft. Definitely worth the upgrade. The saw was running but you could hear noise from the Output Shaft and the Armature, it did not surprise me that three of four bearings were blown. Bosche should provide parts kits for the Output Shaft and related components for customers. Given the original design was faulty Bosche should have done something to make it right by customers: the 4000 table saw is a very robust and well made portable table saw. I use it reliably for hardwood work and would expect to replace bearings but not a poorly designed Output Shaft and Washer/Nut Assembly. Hardwood blades are $90-100, so spending $100 on parts to fix everything was worth it. I also purchased a few extra parts and have spare bearings and brushes. Very simple to disassemble if you are lightly mechanically inclined: I do not consider myself experienced with electric motors at all and had no videos to work from. I memorized the disassembly process and had to reference Bosche's pretty marginal parts schematics to figure out how to re-assemble the revised output shaft and washers.
