Upper Handle

1 - Cut zip ties that hold throttle cable to the lower and upper handles.
2 - Remove upper handle by removing 2 bolts on each side (one on each side has big plastic wing nut that's hand tight).
3 - Detach throttle cable from auto shut-off lever and from upper handle (the plastic housing has a curved plastic pin that doesn't pull straight out of the mounting hole - you curve it around until it comes out, similar to the right side of the auto shut-off lever).
4 - Remove auto shut-off lever (pull left side away from the handle until it detaches and then pivot up toward the right handle until right side of lever - it's curved - comes out of the hole).
5 - Because it is easier if you have some slack to work with, BEFORE attaching the new upper handle, re-attach the throttle cable housing to the upper handle and the end of the throttle cable to the auto shut-off lever and then re-install the auto shut-off lever - then attach the new upper handle.
6 - Finish with 2-3 new zip ties to hold the throttle cable to the lower and upper mower handle.

Took the long hand (U shape) off. Unhooked the red bar at the top (controlled the gas feed).

There were only 2 holes in the new bar (4 holes in the broken bar. Took a while to figure out and a little filing to make on hole on each side a little larger so the bolt fit thru it. The control bar for the gas feed took a while as the I was trying to connect it the wrong way (not very good at this stuff.
Figured out what I was doing wrong after the 3rd attempt. Hooked it up used a plastic tie to hold the cable wire snug against the bar. Putting on the new bag was easy.
Started the engine and we were in business.

Unscrewed the old handle and put on the new one!

Unhook all cable that was connected to handle
Removed bolts
Replaced with new upper handle
Reinstalled all bolts
Rebooked cables

Removed cable operating handles from upper handle assembly, removed bolts, nuts, and wing nuts, replaced upper handle, reattached cables and handles.

Video taped every step as I took off the old handle. Reverse order put new handle on. Easy.

Removed broken handle, repaired until new one arrived, put new one on after new one arrived

simply removed bolts and replaced handle

Took off the old handle and put on the new one.

1. Removed the starting cord loop from the handle.
2. Popped off the black cable retaining block from handle.
3. Pressed the starting bar out of left side of the handle and the pulled out of other side of the handle.
4. I was able to slide the two zip ties out of the way.
5. Removed the handle mounting bolts and removed handle.
6. Installed new handle in reverse of previous procedures.
