This is the upper boom shaft assembly that helps to drive the trimmer head. It is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with Ryobi string trimmers. This item is made from strong durable metal and it is sold individually. When attaching this part, if the button does not release completely in the positioning hole, the shafts are not locked into place. Slightly rotate from side to side until the button is locked into place.

You must be able to reassemble the throttle assembly without instructions. The housing has a couple springs which pop loose once the sides begin to come apart. Make sure to open slowly in order to get a peek inside before parts separate.Common sense will guide you through most of the replacement. A working mechanical brain doesn't hurt either. Good luck.

Removed the upper boom from the power head and all attaching hardware replaced with new upper boom assembly using the removed hardware. The trimmer works great now no issues or problems.
