This replacement switch is a high quality OEM item that is specially made for Makita circular saws. This switch is used to turn the tool on and off. It is plastic a plastic switch with metal terminals, over time mechanical components may begin to fail eventually requiring replacement. Please note this item is sold individually. To complete this repair you will need a screwdriver.

    2. Removed the old switch.
    3. Attached the new switch.
    4. Reassembled.

    1. Removed the screws on the saw handle that holds the switch in place.
    2. Removed the handle piece, pulled the switch from the handle.
    3. Removed the electric wires running to the switch.
    4. Reversed the procedure and ready to go!

    Removed the 5 screws that hold the handle halves together.
    Slid the switch out.
    Disconnected the two wires to the switch.
    Searched for the part number on the internet.
    Ordered the replacement part.
    When it arrived I installed the new switch and put everything back together.
    Saw works fine now.

    Turned the screws out, opened the handle, took the switch out and disconnected the wires, reconnected to the new switch, put the switch back in place, closed the handle back in place and put the screws back in.
