Product Description ?

This switch that has forward/reverse capability and two wire leads to connect to your tool. This is a genuine Makita replacement part that is sold individually.

Switches are commonly replaced parts in power tools, handling all on/off and variable speed operations. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually needing replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are:

  • The tool has stopped functioning – it refuses to start.
  • The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t start at all.

Remove the battery. Remove the screws from the housings, and separate them.Try to keep all of the internal parts in one half of the housing. Take a picture of where the parts are located. Make a wiring diagram of the switch wires. You will need to use a soldering iron, to remove the connections and to attach the connections to this switch, there are no clips or mechanical connectors for this switch. Then simply attach the housings together and you're done.

First split the case in half by removing all the screws, then un solder the two wires from the motor and solder the new switch wires to the motor and re assemble the case half using all the screws I removed earlier. Be careful when splitting the case half so you don't pull all the gears out and other parts that could come with them, if this happens you could have a real mess on your hands.
