Product Information
Description:
This SRM Echomatic head, commonly referred to as a bump head, is situated beneath the debris shield at the end of the drive shaft assembly in your trimmer. This type of cutting head features a convenient bump-to-advance line feeding system. By gently tapping it against the ground during operation, the line automatically advances without manual adjustments. The head can hold up to 20 feet of .095-inch line and can handle a maximum line diameter of .105 inches. If you observe that the line is not advancing, there is irregular feeding, or you notice visible wear, it has to be replaced. Start by inserting the locking tool into the hole on the drive shaft. Turn the cutter head clockwise to unthread it until you can detach it. Align the hole in the adapter plate of the new cutting head with the hole in the shaft. Install the locking tool and turn it counterclockwise until it is securely in place, then remove the locking tool. Keep in mind that this genuine OEM replacement part comes with all the required hardware for your repair.

I want an auto feed head for this. I have had this trimmer for 7 years or so. It starts every Spring with 2 pulls. Wonderful. Very dependable but, I don't like to have to stop all of the time to put in 2 new pieces of string plus I throw away about 6-8" of string every time. Good for the people who make the string and sell it but I do not like it at all. So what auto feed can I replace this head with?
Blake for model number SRM 210 asked on 2022-06-16
Hello Blake, Thank you for writing. Very sorry, we just have the parts listed that came with the unit. We strongly recommend you contact the manufacturer, as they would have this information in their system. Ask them for the part number you require and contact back to see if it is something we carry. We hope this helps!

Trim line would keep pulling inward instead of out.
After checking out the old head, I found some of the cogs on the spool were chipped so I replaced the head and it works fine. For a 30 year old trimmer that's not bad.
