The rewind spring goes between the starter grip and the rope reel. This is a genuine replacement part for chainsaws made by Shindaiwa and Echo and is sold individually. It is made of metal and plastic and will need to be replaced it if becomes broken. A screwdriver may be needed when replacing this part.

The old spring accidentally pulled out of the containment area. Was not able to rewind and install into the small containment area.
