The first spring lasted about 1 hour. Then the curved hook end snapped off. I parked it for the winter. This spring I installed the second one and it snapped in about 10 minutes. The springs are brittle. I have images if you want to see.

Took the deck off by pulling 5 Cotter pins. Replaced the spring, put the deck back on the tractor. Make sure the mower belt is on all pulleys before you put the deck on.

Remove mower deck from tractor
Remove shredded belt and clean mower deck
Remove and replace broken pulley
Install new tension spring
Install new belt
Reinstall mower deck on tractor
