Spindle broke due to undersize diameter

1. remove upper gear reduction cover
2. remove broken spindle shaft and gear
3. press drive gear off broken spindle
4. remove half moon key from broken spindle
5. install half moon key in replacement spindle
6. reinstall drive gear on replacement shaft (note depth to insure interior clearance from cover)
7. replace gasket, lubricate gears and reinstall upper gear reduction housing
8. order new 5/8 inch chuck and spacer washer and install

Chuck broken off drill (screw in bottom of chuck broke off)

1. Took head of drill motor apart.
2. Main spindle had gear on it that had to be pulled off.
3. Used a three arm puller to remove gear.
4. New part had to be pressed on. There was a key that had to be lined up. I hammered it on using a vise as a support.
5. Put grease on new spindle and put head back on drill body.
6. I turned on chuck and put left hand screw in bottom of chuck. I torqued it down using my impact driver.
7. Tried it. Everything worked as it should.

Spindle on electric drill broke

Screwdriver, Socket set, Adjustable Wrench, Press

1.Pulled 4 screws from head of drill and removed end cover and chuck.
2. Lower half of spindle and other 2 gears fell out.
3. Removed drill chuck from upper half of spindle and tapped broken spindle out of cover.
4. Pressed gear off of broken spindle and on to new spindle.
5. Pressed spindle into bearing in cover
6. Placed all 3 spindles and gears into drill and reinstalled cover.
7. Reinstalled drill chuck.
8. Drill works fine.
