This is an authentic replacement part for a Porter Cable Orbital Sander. This part is used to control the speed of the motor with 1 being the lowest speed setting and 6 being the fastest. Removed screws in the tools handle exposing the speed control switch
Removed the three wires by tugging them out with pliers while noting their order in the old switch
Reinserted the wires in the same order using pliers to ensure they were firmly inserted into the new switch
Reassembled the handle and screws
Plugged the polisher in and have it a try at all speed settings and it worked like new.
