Product Description ?

This slider assembly is sourced from the original manufacturer for use in string trimmers. It includes a plastic slider, which has a diameter of 3 inches, and a metal insert. The slider assembly may wear down or break due to usage and aging, leading to difficulties feeding the cutting line, instability in the trimmer head, and reduced trimmer performance. Begin the repair by ensuring that the trimmer is turned off. Remove the trimmer cover/shroud and pull the spool out of the trimmer head. Unthread the faulty slider by hand and insert the new assembly in its place. Place the spool back in the trimmer head and reattach the cover to complete the repair.

    2. Remove a total of 14 screws ?
    3. Pry the lower portion of the trimmer apart . This is the grey portion of the handle on my trimmer . This might come apart by using your hands but might require a flat head screwdriver to pry apart
    4. Grab the end of the motor housing shaft with pliers or channel locks and twist off the slider assembly by hand
    5. install the new slider assembly twisting in on like a screw
    6. Re install the all parts , put in the battery and turn it on

From use the entire slider was worn badly and I could not secure the cap that holds the string in place.

I found that there was no way to lock the shaft that this slider connects to. So I used my needle nose vice grips to lock onto the shaft close to the motor.
Note: I did remove the shield in order to get a better grip with the vice grips.
After that I just screwed on the new slider, placed the string spool in,then locked it in with the cap.
    My trimmer is like new.
    Perfect replacement.
