This part comes directly from KitchenAid. This Agitator Shaft is used on all 6 quart and many 5 quart KitchenAid Stand mixers. The Agitator Shaft is made of metal and includes a retaining ring and a pin. All the mixing attachments, such as the Wire Whip, connect to the Agitator. The Agitator turns the mixing attachments while it is driven around the outside of the Planetary. This part should be replaced if it has rusted or has become damaged.

After removing the top cover and punch pin from the planetary, the retaining clip had to come off. Use a snap ring removal tool. Remove the washer, and slide the shaft down. Be sure to have the correct grease for Kitchen Aid mixer. Reassemble in the reverse order.
