Knobs

Knobs allow you to loosen and make adjustments and then tighten back up to hold those adjustments in place. If a knob is missing, broken or has stripped threads, it can easily be replaced. Unscrew the knob all of the way and install a new know by threading it in.

Levers

Levers allow you to make adjustments. To replace a broken lever, back off the jam nut and remove the extension rod. Remove the bolt securing the lever. Extend the extension rod all of the way out and install the new lever. Install the bolt to secure it and reinstall the jam nut. Adjust the tension.

Plate

The wear plate is located between the saw and the base, allowing the saw to rotate freely on the base. As this part wears down over time, it can make the saw difficult to move and will need to be replaced. Remove the fence and the kerf plates. Then, take out the center nut and hold onto the bolt underneath as you remove the nut on top. Make note of all the pieces attached to it, for reassembly purposes. Separate the saw from the base. Remove the wear plate, clean the entire area and install the new wear plate. Reattach the saw back onto the base and insert the bolt back in from underneath. Reinstall the washer, roller bearing and washer on top, followed by the nut. Tighten the nut enough so you can move it freely, but not too freely – it should have a little tension on it.
