The wheel set consists of two wheels, an axle and two retaining rings. The wheels on your cooler are built to withstand years of rugged use. Even so, accidents happen that can cause damage to them.

Let's get started.

 

REMOVING THE WHEEL SET

1. Remove the wheel set.

a. Use a large screwdriver to pry the axle out of the groove on the bottom of the cooler.

b. Remove the wheel set.

 

INSTALLING THE NEW WHEEL SET

 

2. Assemble the wheel set.

a. Place one of the new retaining rings (cone-side down) on a 3/8-inch socket.

b. Align the new axle shaft with the retaining ring.

c. Tap the end of the axle with a rubber mallet to seat the retaining ring.

d. Install both of the new wheels onto the axle shaft with the lettering of each wheel facing the (outward) sides of the cooler.

e. Align the second new retaining ring with the top of the axle shaft.

f. Use a socket and a rubber mallet to seat the retaining ring onto the axle.

 

3. Install the wheel set.

a. Install the new wheel set onto the cooler.

b. Use a rubber mallet (as-needed) to seat the axle shaft into the groove along the bottom of the cooler.
