How to replace the spark arrestor screen on an Echo trimmer

The Facts

String trimmer out of whack? It's time to face the fix. Whether you are a legendary landscaper or a weekend weed whacker, eReplacementParts.com provides the parts, procedures and facts you need to fearlessly fix what fails you.

The spark arrestor screen is part of the trimmer's muffler. Its purpose (as the name suggests) is to stop sparks from exiting the muffler (which can cause wildfires). Over time, the spark arrestor screen can become plugged with carbon or unburned oil. When this happens, the trimmer will display a noticeable lack of power (and in many cases, it will not accelerate to full throttle).

Replacing the spark arrestor screen is easy to do. It is also required by law in many areas (to install a spark arrestor on all gas-powered equipment).
