These can be damaged in a way that allows them to turn but does not open the valve. The know may be replaceable on its own, or you may need to replace the pot and valve assembly together.

The pot inside the deep fryer sometimes features a drain valve to help you easily drain the unit of grease. This valve can become clogged with old grease and food particles. To check the drain valve, wait until the grease cools and drain it from the pot. Check the valve for a buildup of food and grease and try to remove it. If the valve itself id damaged, you may need to replace the pot and valve assembly together.
