How to Replace the Lower Blade Guard on a DeWALT Miter Saw
Finish Nailer Repair - Replacing the Driver Guide (Ridgid Part # 79004001022)

The blade guard covers the saw blade to help protect you from an accident. The lower blade guard assembly consists of the plastic blade guard with the spring and the mounting plate already assembled to it. Most problems with the blade guard are the result of accidental damage, such as a board hitting the guard, something falling on the saw during transport, or damage from a work-piece kickback.
Let's get started.

a. Disconnect the saw from its power source.
2. Disconnect the guard link.

b. Pivot the guard link down (toward the table) and away from the guard.
3. Remove the lower guard.
a. Remove the screw from the rear portion of the lower guard mounting bracket.
b. Rotate the guard assembly back (toward the rear of the saw) to expose the front screw.
c. Remove the screw from the front portion of the lower guard mounting bracket.
d. Remove the lower guard from the saw.
INSTALLING THE NEW LOWER GUARD

d. Install and tighten the screw to secure the front portion of the lower guard.
REASSEMBLING THE UNIT
