How to Replace the Trigger Handle on a Ryobi Pressure Washer
Finish Nailer Repair - Replacing the Driver Guide (Ridgid Part # 79004001022)

If the water does not spray when you pull the trigger on your pressure washer (or if the water handle leaks), you may need to replace the trigger handle. The trigger handle contains the valve that allows you to start (and stop) the spray of water. The wand and the high-pressure hose attach to the trigger handle. The most common problems with the trigger handle are damages caused by accidentally dropping it, or by improper winter storage. Dropping the trigger handle can break any of the plastic housings, the trigger, or the wand fittings. If water is left to freeze in the handle (during winter), the valve may crack, causing the handle to leak from inside the housing.
Let's get started.
REMOVING THE TRIGGER HANDLE
1. Remove the wand.
a. Twist and pull the wand assembly away from the trigger handle.
2. Disconnect the high-pressure hose.
a. Unscrew the hose coupler.
b. Remove the high-pressure hose from the trigger handle. If the fitting on the hose has corroded; slide the plastic sheath away from the fitting (using adjustable pliers) and carefully separate the two components.
INSTALLING THE NEW TRIGGER HANDLE
3. Connect the high-pressure hose.
a. Remove the protective cap from threads on the new trigger handle.
b. Install the high-pressure hose onto the new trigger handle.
REASSEMBLING THE UNIT
4. Reinstall the wand.
a. Install the wand onto the new trigger handle.
b. Press and rotate the wand on the trigger handle to lock the assembly in place.
