! Depressurize the air tank.
Always depressurize the air tank before servicing your air compressor. To do this, open the drain valve and wait until all of the air (and pressure) has escaped. If you are unable to open the drain valve (due to rust or corrosion), discharge as much air as possible using an air chuck or blower nozzle.
1. Remove the drain valve.
Tilt the compressor onto its side to expose the drain valve.
Use a wrench to loosen the drain valve.
Remove the drain valve from the tank.

2. Install the new drain valve.
Thread the drain valve into the tank. (The new drain valve comes with thread sealant pre-applied; additional thread sealant is not required.)
Use a wrench to secure the drain valve.
