Deep Fryer: Leaks Liquid

Some deep fryers have the ability to drain and store the oil from the cooking container, into a storage container. The hose or pipe that drains the oil can crack or break, or become clogged. The drain pipe can be repaired by taking out the oil reservoir, removing the old pipe and installing your new one.

Your deep fryer may have washers, also known as seals, gaskets, and o-rings, in the mechanism that drains the oil from the main pot to the oil container. These will fail over time and will leak. To repair a worn washer, wait until the unit and the oil inside cools, and remove the element assembly, pot, basket, and cover. Slide out the oil reservoir and inspect the washer or seal for damage. Replace it if it looks worn or broken.

Deep fryers have feature containers which can leak liquid during use. There is usually a main pot, made from metal which will sometimes have a drain valve that fails. The deep fryer may also have an oil container and oil drawer (for holding cold oil), normally made of plastic. They can become cracked or broken. The sealing edge for the lid can also become damaged and leak. These containers are easily removable from the unit and can be replaced with compatible parts without disassembling the unit.
