Description:

This is a genuine Poulan and Husqvarna part. The recoil starter spins the crankshaft to start the engine when you pull the rope. The most common reason for replacing the recoil starter is if the rope or spring breaks, causing the engine to not start. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the recoil starter is a 3/8” socket and a 5/16” socket.

Screwdriver, Socket set, none

snowblower recoil pull start broke

1 removed broken recoil starter. (manufacture's knot to secure rope handle pulled out after 5th use)
2 installed replacement pull starter including a washer between handle and rope knot. also made a ball of numerous knots. need to find a glue or something to weld knots together, so knots can't pull out. (note : made two slip knots in rope, so rope couldn't slip back into recoil body while I was securing handle with multiple knots.)
3 checked for proper operation by pull starting snowblower.
