It both provides compression within the engine, as well as transfers the energy from combustion to the crankshaft. Over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. Make sure to check the owners manual and the diagrams of your model for the correct installation of the new component. Note, this high-quality assembly includes one durable metal piston, two piston rings, the pin and two retainer clips.
