I actually didn't use the new pinion gear that I ordered, I diagnosed that the play and slipping of my rear axle was due to the play in the differential so i fused the rotational ability of the diff and now have a Positraction rear axle, no more slipping and jerking of the drive train, turning radius is bigger but tractor goes easily where I steer it and no wheel spin/ loss of traction. Extended the life of my cheap lawn tractor a little longer.
