?This is a manufacturer sourced replacement part designed for use with Chicago Pneumatic ratchet/wrenchs. This o-ring provides an air-tight seal for the valve. Over time this o-ring will shrink, become brittle and crack allowing for air leaks. At that time it should be replaced. It is made out of rubber and it is sold individually. Replacing this item you would need hex key/allen wrench and pliers to replace this item.

Throttle valve cracked from age

Remove the old o-ring, spring and throttle valve
Installed the new throttle valve, spring and o-ring on the throttle valve plug and tightened it

Remove the throttle valve plug
Installed the throttle valve
Installed the spring
Put the o-ring on the valve plug
Dropped some air tool in it, hooked it up to the air hose, It ran like a new tool
The valve throttle in my 3/8 inch air ratchet wrench disintegrated after sitting for an extensive period of time.

2. pull spring and debris.
3. clean area with denatured alcohol.
4. blow down with compressed air.
5. add new throttle valve to spring, with plumbers grease.
6. add o ring to outer housing, with plumbers grease.
7. screw down housing to snug, you are ready to play.
