This is an authentic Hoover part is found on steam cleaners. This is the right side recovery tank latch used to secure the dirty water tank. To remove the tank, depress the release pedal and lower the main handle to the floor. Rotate the recovery latches outward; remove the tank. One latch is included. No tools are needed to install this latch.

Simply lifted off and pushed the new ones into place.
In reality the latch broke because operator did not understand the locking mechanism.

pulled up on old latch, and took new latch and at a slight angle pushed new latches in place. Works great and same color and design as originals.
