?This switch is an authentic Porter Cable replacement part. It is sourced directly from original equipment manufacturer for use with wet/dry vacuums. The purpose of this switch is to allows user to turn the equipment on and off. Please note the button and spring are both sold separately. Includes one (1) plastic switch per order. This is a quick and simple repair that would only require a screwdriver.

the switch would not stay on when pressed . it would stay on if you continually kept it pressed down

2) take off the spring loaded filter cleaner towards the back of the unit
3) pry the cover off the housing ( this was my hardest step because its really tight and hard to pry and I wa ... Read more s afraid that I missed a screw. but just work it around the perimeter like opening a can of paint
4) before removing the broken switch I made a diagram of wiring so I wouldn\'t get confused once all the wires were off
5) remove the switch from the seat ( friction fitted ) and remove the wires
6)then place the wires on the terminals of the new switch and place switch back in its seat
7)snap the cover back on the housing, re-install spring loaded filter cleaner, re-install screws

Otherwise not but. Use caution removing cover. You could crack it.
