Product Description

?

This is a replacement carburetor supplied by original equipment manufacturer. It is designed for use with gas trimmers. Carburetor mixes air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. If the engine won't start you may want to test the carburetor by removing the air filter and pouring about a teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor. Pull the starter rope. If the engine starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem. This carburetor has a metal body and it includes a rubber primer bulb. To complete this repair you would need a hex key/allen wrench. • Remove air box cover, filter and base • Disconnect fuel lines • Remove old carburetor and install new one • Reconnect fuel lines • Re-assemble and test the unit

Remove the air filter cover, air filter and filter support. Remove the fuel lines from the old carburetor, mark where they go, and remove the throttle cable. The remove the two screws that hold the air box and carburetor on. Remove old carburetor, be careful with the carburetor gasket because it does not include a new one. Install the new carburetor and air box with the two screws. Then hook up the fuel lines and throttle cable. Then the other parts in reverse order.

I started by removing the air filter cover, then the air filter, then the filter support. I then removed the fuel lines and throttle from the old carburetor. Making sure I noted where the fuel line had been. I then removed the two screws that hold the air box and carburetor on, along with the choke shutter and the choke plate. I then remo ve the old carburetor and installed the new one. Replaced the choke plate, choke shutter and air box and tightened the screws. I then installed the fuel lines and throttle on the new carburetor. Then the air filter assembly. I then replace the old spark plug with a new one and gapped it a 0.025 Primed it and choked it and it started right up.

Remove the housing to expose the carburetor. Simply removed the carburetor and replaced it. I would suggest replacing the fuel lines at the same time. Pretty easy job for $60 bucks vs well over at $100 at a repair shop.
