This ignition module is a genuine OEM sourced item, it is not an aftermarket imitation. Ignition module supplies electric current to the spark plug. If the ignition coil is defective, the engine may not start. Please note, this assembly includes a metal ignition module with a rubberized wire and the spark plug boot. Removed the covers so I could access the ignition coil, then removed the old ignition coil. Then installed the new ignition coil and gapped the distance between the flywheel magnets and ignition coil with a business card. It cranked right up.
Remove all covers and spark plug wire, ignition coil. Replaced, gap between the coil and flywheel is 0.012. Replaced fuel cap also. Install parts in reverse order.
Took the back cover off of the Weedeater and pulled the whole motor assembly out about 3 inches. Removed 2 screws and the coil came right off. Put an old business card on the flywheel and bolted the new one back on. Spun it by hand to make sure that I had clearance. Slid the motor assembly back into place and replaced the rear cover. Put

Ignition Module connector broke and bulb was worn with cracks
Pulled trimmer apart and replaced parts. Pretty simple if you are mechanically inclined. If you don\'t know what you are doing a simple YouTube video will walk you through it. Took me maybe a half-hour to replace both things which included watching the video on how to do it.
Remove head from trimmer (had to be careful wording that) 5 or 6 screws to remove cover & 2 more retain the module. To reinstall place a business card between module and magnetic part of flywheel tighten screws, remove card and reinstall removed parts.
removed trimmer housing
pulled wires off kill swatch
removed module
cleaned magnet
set air gap
put air trimmer housing back togheter
pull starter string

Coil was bad new one was a little different but was able to make it work
You must dismantle the entire blower to get to the ignition module. Simple job, just pay attention to what goes where as you dismantle it. I used a business card to set gap between module and magnet on flywheel.
