This is a complete Recoil Starter Assembly including the Plastic Housing, Pulley, Recoil Spring, Rope, Handle, Screws to attach the Assembly and a Metal Guard Plate. This assembly allows you to start the engine with a simple pull of a rope.

Pawl cog broke, starter rope would not engage

1. Removed the rear cover assembly.
2. Removed the engine shroud
3. Used a screwdriver to hold the motor blades.
4. Removed the pawl nut
5. Replace the broken pawl
6. Replaced the pawl nut.
7. Replaced the engine shroud
8. Put on the new rear cover assembly.

Cranked and ran! Thanks t o all parts being a perfect fit and some great UTube videos on the operation.!!

Removed 4 screws and took off old assembly and then put new assembly on. Tightened 4 screws and was ready to go.

Very easy to replace. Remove four screws and remove the old assembly. Install the new assembly with the screws provided with the new part.

When you pull the rope on the weed eater it would rachet or slip

1) Remove the four screws from the cover assembly and remove old cover . Torx wench.

2) Put the new cover assy on and replace the four screws all done now see if it works.

3) Pull the rope and crank it up

A. Using an appropriate Torx driver, remove the four screws holding the assembly in place. The spacer plate will fall out with the unit tilted to one side.
B. Place the four screws in the holes in the new assembly.
C. Holding the unit level, place the spacer plate.
D. Put the new assembly in place, aligning the screws with the holes in the unit. Note: there is one way the assembly goes in place.
E. Using an appropriate Torx driver, tighten the screws fully.

The unit is now ready to use.

Unbolted the entire cover and place the ordered one in its place. It fit perfectly and was able to start the trimmer immediately. It works perfectly. Excellent Part!

Oil mixed with fuel and used to trim grass.

I had the old pulled rope removed. I then assembled the housing with new pully with draw string and fastened the star cluster to secure. Afterward, everything worked as neededGǪ!
