Removing most of the parts was a matter of taking the screws out and removing the part. The most difficult part was removing the clutch because as you attempt to unthread the clutch, the crankshaft rotates. ... Read more To remove it, I pulled the spark plug out and pushed some cord into the cylinder with the piston at the bottom of the stroke. The cord (like parachute cord) filled the cylinder. When the clutch turned, the piston pushed against the cord and could not complete a cycle. I was able to remove the clutch easily after that. Once I got the starter housing off, I realized the internal gear and spring were beyond repair. Armed with the model number, I easily found the replacement part on eReplacementParts.com. They shipped it out and once I got it, the reassembly was less than 30 minutes. Pulled the cord out of the cylinder, replaced the other parts, added fresh fuel and boom....done. Works like a new one.
