Remove old spool cap by depressing tabs, remove old spring and old spool. Replace spring and spool inside of spool housing, snap the spool cap back on.

Misplaced original cap and spring

Place the spring behind the spool, the line up the tabs on side of the cap with the slots in the spool housing and press it in.

Took off the spool cover and the spool and inserted a spring. Then put it back together

I just followed the instructions to reassembled the trimmer. I\'m 74 and could understand the instructions very easily. The trimmers is working great!
I just put it back together as per instructions.
