The clutch hub bearing seized and melted the trimmer housing. I Separated the front housing from the engine, removing the Torx screws. Replaced the clutch shoes and reinstalled the front housing to the engine. The repair was easy; I completed the repair in less than 30 minutes.

The clutch hub bearing seized, ruining the front housing. Very poorly designed.

1. Removed engine from trimmer mast.
2. Removed pull starter.
3. Separated the front housing from the engine.
Note: There is a Torx screw on the left inside top, which is difficult to see and requires a magnetic Torx driver to remove and reinstall.
4. Clean the engine, especially the area of the clutch (dust). < br />Note: This is also a good time to replace any old fuel lines in need of replacement.
5. Install a NEW clutch assembly.
6. Install new front housing and all required parts.
