This is an authentic Homelite replacement part, sourced from the original manufacturer for use with trimmers. The piston ring is used to separate the combustion chamber and the crankcase assembly to prevent gases from entering the crankcase. If a piston ring becomes damaged the seal can break and may result in a loss of compression. This item is available as an individual replacement part.
