This is a genuine Ryobi and Homelite part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in trimmers. The trimmer head with eyelets attaches to the spool with line. A set of pliers may be necessary during the installation of this item. It may become broken and will need to be replaced. This is made of plastic and is available as an individual replacement part.

This part does not come close to fitting and was not as described. When I tried to get a refund and to send it back, I discovered that I would still be losing money and it's not even worth to send the part back after paying for the shipping. Will be using this company again

I simply removed the old head and installed the new one. Wound in a fresh length of trimmer line.
I didn\'t need a retaining cap, but ordered one anyway. The old one was starting to wear and the tiny steel cover for the nut was also missing making it easy to lose the nut. I installed the new retaining cap and I was good to go
