Product Description
?This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part which is specially designed for use with Ryobi handheld lawn and garden equipment. The ignition module also known as armature-magneto provides the current for the ignition system by producing pulses of high voltage for the spark plugs. Unfortunately, over time components will wear out and they may begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. Keep in mind it is made of high-quality metal with a rubber insulated spark plug boot and is sold individually.

Last summer brought the trimmer to a Ryobi repair center to fix the spool which was stuck, I could not remove it and did not want to damage the trimmer.
Since then I\'ve had nothing but problems with the trimmer running properly.
So decided on a carb replacement and ignition assy. replacement.
... Read more />1) Carb replacement went well with no gotcha\'s.
2) Ignition had two complications for me.
a) After disassemble of the housing and ignition replacement, I found it difficult to reassemble. In ;the end I used a wire(Like a wire clothes hanger section) to insert into one of the screw holes in the housing then through the screw hole in the starter assembly. So they would align when I tried to insert the engine into the housing.
b)Second was the ignition module was in contact with the magneto or flywheel and binding so I could not pull to get the engine to turnover. After several disassembles and reassembles, I saw that the Ignition module had to be adjusted not to hit the flywheel.
After all of the above, trimmer runs like new.
good luck

To anyone reading this review:
1. Pay attention to the screws when taking things apart. There are two different types; one for plastic and one for metal, and they look really similar.
2. DON\'T forget to set the gap on the magnetic pickup. The magnets on the flywheel will prevent you from pulling the rope, and you\'ll have to take it apart again.
Thank you for an excellent video tutorial, easy ordering and speedy shipping!
