Install the new spool and let some line out of the upper housing. Then line up the side tabs of the cap to the slots in the upper housing and press it in.
Removed the old cap
re-wound the line,
replaced with new cap, and off I go
This is the 5th spool cap in 3 plus years of use.
I now have 2 spare ones left.
Very easy - just pushed on cap. But this was the correct cap for my trimmer. I bought two others from different stores and they did not fit. So it was more convenience than a difficult task.
