This is an OEM replacement part for Makita string trimmers. The air filter cleans the air entering and exiting the carburetor. This part is a common wear item, we recommend replacing the air filter periodically. For this repair you will need a pair of pliers and a screwdriver to remove any covers or shrouds. Be sure to unplug the spark plug and boot wire before starting this repair.
