The wire guard is underneath the motor housing. It is made of metal. It is secured in two grooves in the housing that holds the debris shield to the top part of the motor housing. It is held in place by locking tabs on the bottom of the shield. If this part warps or breaks, it will need to be replaced. Sold separately.
