This replacement starter cover assembly is designed for Makita lawn and garden equipment. It is the assembly that is used to pull-start the engine. It includes a plastic housing, starter pulley, starter spring and the pull rope with a grip. Any part of a starter breaking or becoming damaged usually requires replacing the starter. The most common reason for replacing a starter assembly is the pull cord breaking. Individual parts of a starter can be replaced, but the truth is that the small amount of money you usually save on parts isn\\\'t enough to justify the difficult task of rebuilding the assembly. Please note the hardware to secure this assembly is sold separately.
Removed the old cover assembly (Phillips head screws) and replaced. Fairly simple. Only thing I\'d change is if the starter cover assembly came with screws.
purchase a new rope assembly to replace the old one. Removed 5 screws that hold rope assembly on blower. put new rope assembly in its place and reassemble the 5 screws and Bam!! Good as new!!
