1. Removed starter cord assembly,
2. Removed broken spring.
3. Tried to insert replacement spring but the configuration of the end did not match my trimmer
4. Had to straighten out \"hook\" configuration on end of spring and then cut off the excess.
5. Spring was very hard metal and required use of wire cutter
... Read mores and extensive use of hacksaw to cut off the excess.
6. If you order a replacement part, I recommend you check the original spring and call the supplier to ensure the replacement spring has the same configuration on the ends.
Remove 9 screws to remove the recoil cover then 1 screw to remove the recoil unit , remove the broken drive spring replace with the new spring and put back in reverse order start trimmer to test job was easy.
