It is an authentic OEM supplied replacement part that is specially produced for Husqvarna handheld lawn and garden equipment. The ignition module also known as an armature-magneto provides electric current for the ignition system sending pulses of high voltage to the spark plug. The primary symptoms of a faulty module usually would be difficulty starting your equipment or inability to start it at all. It is made from durable metal with a rubber insulated wire and a spark plug boot. Please note this part is sold individually.

Removed trimmer shaft from engine shaft so I did not have a balance issue on my work bench. Removed covers so the engine was accessible. Use caution to remove throttle handle. Small wires to take care with. Removed old module. Set new one in place. Just make sure the module clears the magneto by about one-sixteenth to one-eighth inch. You could use a thick gapping tool for this. I used a thick flat tip screwdriver. While replacing throttle cover grip, ensure the wires are in the inner groove properly so they do not get pinched. Put covers in place. Reinstalled trimmer shaft to engine shaft. Started up the trimmer with no problem. Very easy repair and cost of module fair enough.

Spark plug cable broke

Removed screws to disconnect shaft.
Removed screws to separate housing.
Disconnected ignition wire .
Removed and replaced module.
Reconnected ignition wire.
Used a business card to get correct distance between module and flywheel.

First, reviewed some videos on several installations.
I have determined that the guys that do this, are so familiar with how to do it, it makes it look simple.
However, with patience and think it through, you can accomplish the install.
I did have to take apart several times to assure I had it assembled correctly. As example, I had completely assembled and then, tested the pull cord to assure the the recoil starter was set in place correctly, and..it started on the table!
So, yep, it was...got it done, but remember, the videos have also disassembled and re-assembled multi times.
