This cutting head set, also known as trimmer head or bump head, is designed specifically for EGO string trimmers. It is what stores the cutting line and releases the cutting line when the head is gently tapped on the ground during operation. This is a dual feed with a 0.095-Inch cutting swath and 15-foot professional quality line. This is a Powerload trimmer head, allowing you to rewind the line quickly by simply inserting the line into the head and pressing the Powerload button. If the head is loose after being secured into position, it needs to be replaced right away. If it is loose, cracked, damaged or worn, even slight cracks, could cause the attachments to shatter at high speeds. The head is black and green in color and sold individually.To remove the trimmer head, remove the battery pack from the trimmer, press the release tabs on the trimmer head and remove the lower cover assembly of the trimmer head by lifting it straight out. Now remove the cutting line and the spring off the spool assembly (save for when reassembling). Use one hand to grip the spool assembly to steady it, and use the other hand to hold an impact wrench to loosen the nut counter clockwise. Remove the nut, washer, spool assembly and upper cover from the motor shaft. Use circlip pliers to remove the circlip and remove the fan assembly. To install the new trimmer head, align the key slot in the fan assembly with the spline in the motor shaft and mount the fan assembly into place. Now mount the circlip, upper cover, spool assembly, and washer. Use an impact wrench on the nut to tighten it. Mount the lower cover assembly, reload the cutting line, start the tool to see if it is working as usual.
