This is a single cutter head set, also sometimes referred to as the trimmer head or bump head. The cutter head set is where the cutting line is stored and released when the head is lightly tapped on the ground during operation. This 15-Inch rapid reload replacement string trimmer head is black in color and OEM certified, ensuring the proper fit and function. This EGO trimmer head is known for its ?rapid reload? system, which quickly and easily loads a new trimmer line. This part should be replaced immediately if it appears cracked, damaged, worn or fits loose after being fixed in position. Even if a crack looks superficial, it needs to be replaced, as it runs the risk of shattering at high speed. To install the new trimmer head, position the flange section onto the motor shaft with the flat surface facing away from the base. Line up the mounting hole in the spool base with the motor shaft and mount the base onto the shaft. Place the plain washer onto the motor shaft. Mount the nut onto the shaft and turn it clockwise by hand to tighten. Hold the spool base with one hand (wear gloves) and use the other hand to use a socket wrench (14mm) to tighten the nut into the shaft. Fit the spring into the spool base, making sure it is pushed into place. Align the tabs on the spool trainer with the holes in the spool base. Press and rotate the spool retainer left and right until the tabs connect with the spool base.
