This main pipe is a genuine replacement part that is sourced from original manufacturer for use with Echo trimmers. This durable metal pipe holds the flexible drive shaft and attaches to the gear box at the lower end of the pipe. Please note the main pipe includes the drive shaft liner, but the flexible drive shaft is sold separately.

Disassemble and removal of the pipe was quite easy. Reassemble a little more difficult. Aligning the throttle cable and trigger assembly took a little extra care.

The main pipe got run over and bent

removed the lower head then the handle then loosened the throttle trigger assembly like i said loosened only then loosened the 2 screws at the powerhead slid the pipe out and reinstalled the new one and lined and tightened everything
Removed the power {engine} head from the main pipe and removed the trimmer head, after that replaced the new main pipe and the engine and trimmer head. Started engine and check out all parts. Every thing good.
Removed the old shaft from trimmer head and motor
Replaced with the new shaft I purchased from ereplacementparts.com
It fit perfect and my trimmer is good as new!!
Best $40 I have spent in a while and a lot better than paying $300 for a new weed eater
1. Removed old pipe.
2. Removed pipe from head and trigger mechanism.
3. Removed cutting Head.
4. Pulled drive shaft .
5. Install new pipe and reconnect parts in sequence.
Trimmer works like new.

No [power to trimming attachment. The flexible drive shaft broke.
1. Loosen star drive bolts at the base of the drive shaft to remove trimming attachment
2. Pull out drive shaft
3. Lubricate and replace drive shaft.
4. Reattach trimming attachment
5. Use trimmer.
