1. Removed power head from shaft.
2. Removed string attachment from shaft.
3. Removed old shaft (came out in pieces as it was broken).
4. Installed new shaft.
5. Reinstalled string attachment and power head.
6. Grommet & filter: drained gas and replaced grommet and filter. Grommet was tight in tank, used spud
... Read moreger tool to help install that. Needed to cut tube to fuel filter to get it through the grommet (only cut a very small piece off the end).
Not too bad. Local mower repair shop wouldn\'t fix trimmer as it didn\'t pay them anymore to do it so it was fix myself or toss and replace. Glad I was able to fix this myself!
