This steel collet nut threads onto a router or laminate trimmer spindle. As it tightens, it presses the matching collet around the bit shank to hold the bit in place. The nut may be sold without the collet cone, so check the package contents before ordering. Match both parts to the complete tool model and required bit size. Unplug the tool, clean the spindle threads, and inspect them for damage. Start the nut by hand and use the correct wrench for final tightening. The bit must remain straight and firmly held before the tool is started.
