This is an authentic OEM sourced replacement part that is intended to be used with wheeled trimmers from Yard-Man, Troy-Bilt, MTD, and Cub Cadet. The skid assembly attaches to the bottom of the cutting head spindle. This item is used to protect the spindle and allow it to move over the ground. This item is sold as an individual replacement part.

Skid plate worn completely through

Remove old skid plate, 3 bolts (new bolts and nuts provided with part) had to be ground out due to wear. Perfect fit with the new skid plate, tighten and thatÆs it.

Ground clearance base on push trimmer was worn.

Remove the bolts and nuts from the worn out part. And simply replace the new part with the nuts and bolts included.

Bottom of the skid wore through

1. Sawed off 3 bolt heads with oscillating tool (with metal cutting blade). Bolt heads were worn down to the point a wrench would not hold them.

2. Removed and discarded worn skid and nuts and bolts.

3. Bolted new skid to the spindle assy and tightened the included locknuts.
